TIGER FISH

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
are you planning one geting a bigger tank for your atf. 6o gal would be ok for a very short while if he is like 3", any bigger and you like the fish and want to see him grow bigger and healthy spend the money and get a good size tank. i mean i have a 3" atf in a 55gal but thats just tell he gets a little bit bigger so he can go in my 150. soon they will be to big for my 150 and i will haft to upgrade. but if you dont plan on geting a bigger tank and your atf stays alive and gets to big pm me and ill buy it off you :grinyes:

nah, mines int the 60 for about 2 months until he gets his own 180 for a while, then when he gets about 8", he'll go in the 700 gal. I had him in a 30 gal, and it was way too small. Thats why I am surprised anybody would be able to keep one in a 15 gal, at ANY size, for more than a few days. If the dats are 3" and they are 1/2 the size of the ATF, that means he has a 6" atf in a 15 gal tank? huh? that cannot be possible. Its cruel.

Do not put an African Tiger in a tank that small I have put this on here before I had 3 in a 5x2x2 nothing else had them from quite small when they got to about 8 inches they were to big for the tank 1 of them damaged its face really deadly smashing into the end of the tank oddball had the same problem and he had to put his in a large round pond I seam to remember. These are a seriously fast fish and I would dearly love to have another but you need a seriously large tank it just not fair putting one in a 60 gal .

Ive kept an ATF with a Dat in a 60 gallon long ago and the dat would keep pecking at the fin behind the dorsal fin of the ATF. It was just funny.

I hope the 15 is just temporary, and moved to a larger tank soon ASAP.

For the cloudy eye, several things can cause it but one of the most common is a bacterial infection, isolation and treatment with a broadspectrum antibiotic is recommended followed by salted water. I have never had the problem so this is just off the web.

hahaha of course this little 15 is temporary :D
im plannin on moving these to a 60 when bigger and to a larger tank when they are big.

oh ya then you are good. i hope you are loving that atf they are awsome. when they get biger put some african pike with them. they do well together. good luck and keep us posted

for some odd reason the datnoid with the cloudy has suddenly died. the tanks water parameters are all good and ive been addin cureick to rid of any parasites. the tigerfish and other widebar are doing fine though
sad any explanation?? i didnt see any tear marks or bites from other fish so im guessin it wasnt attacked
