Tiger hybrids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When I bought my black Mantilla female she was sold to me as a Leo / Tiger hybrid.
Can she have tiger in her... Personally I do not think so as she does not have any color at all other than black and deep brown, but she does have a very interesting marbeled pattern across her body.

Does her tail have banding like a tiger?

I read somewhere that flowers and tigers don't do good with black rays as they are too aggressive for them and stress them out and they stop eating. How much truth to that statement? I have no tanks to hold solo rays so it needs to hold it's own with bd/leos,pearl,henlei and a leo/pearl hybrid. I have no time whatsoever to baby a adult ray and have no desire too as I only like to keep hardy fish and rays. Also read the tail fungus problems with flowers and tiger when their tails are injured or bitten as they are so long.

It's a hit or miss with flower and tiger rays, but yes, some flowers and tigers are Really aggressive when eating/hungry.

LOL :grinno:....I wrote my message wrong. I meant to say the black rays are too aggressive for flowers and tigers.

I think I made up my mind and will stay away from tigers and flowers.

My widest tank is 42" so I would probably have to eventually trade the tiger ray away once it's too big for the tank.
