Tiger loach aggression

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One of my local fish stores had 3 tiger botia loaches and I scooped them up. They definitely have spunk, as it stands my tank is 8 clown loaches, 1 skunk (will get more when I see them again as I had 6) 3 tiger loaches, 1 yoyo (the dominate monster of my loaches) 2 ropefish, 1 sen and 1 del bichir, a couple of banjo cats, a panic blue pleco, a Denison barb, and like 6 Rosie barbs. I just got the tigers yesterday, so we shall see who becomes the dominate now. As it stands the clowns are bullied to no end by the lone yoyo, but he doesn't seem to want to cause lasting damage, he seems content just to chase (which he does all the time).

I have one, a good 8" or so, he is VERY mean. I had him in with a school of other loaches and he basically just chased them all day long, nipping their fins, even doing it to my chocolates. I took him out and now is in a 220 where he just lays in a log with the eel.

Give the Tigers some time and I wouldn't be too surprised if they take over the tank and show the yoyo who's boss.

I got three of them recently and they seem content to hide in their caves but woe on the clowns that dare enter their territory!
My alpha clown has got scratches now thanks to these guys.
But i don't see them active all that much but definitely a beautiful loach.
