Myself , I'm keeping them in a large outdoor deep pond that has been established and running for the last 16 years . It never freezes in winter and these are fish that live alittle north of me so I'm pretty confident they'll thrive .
So I don't know the exact temperature of the water but it's alittle cooler at the bottom and warmer to the touch on the top few inches ,
BUT having said all that if I was going to attemp to keep these beautiful predatory fish indoors I'd suggest aVery large tank I hear they can grow a foot or so in a year , and I'd keep the temps in the 70 to 76 degree range .
