:irked: Hey guys, I recently acquired a two and a half year-old Tiger Oscar off of Kijiji. He (?) is about ten inches long and lives in a 90 that has been cycled for about a year with a few Pictus catfish and some Tetras that I assume will soon be snacks :). Well, it's been about four days and he will not eat. I'm offering the same food as the previous owner, who fed him large pellets and a cricket once/week. I'm just wondering at what point should I become concerned about his anorexia, lol? In your experience, how long does it take a fish this old to become accustomed to a new tank/scenery? I really wanna do what I can for him... Suggestions?

kinda surprising for an oscar not to eat

I took in a beat up 3 yr old Oscar 13 months ago. It took him pretty much a full week before he'd eat. I left the lights off most the time then started him out on things like bloodworms and tiny chunks of shrimp. He's eaten everything I've put into the tank since then.

he's most likely just stressed.
keep offering him the same food and sit down with your fish.
Let him get used to you being around.
That might help.
lol. i hate to move too...

Water parameters are all zero, nitrates consistently under 20ppm, pH 7.5. And ya it's been a 10 days, still nothing. I have offered shrimp, bloodworms, pellets, everything, to no avail. I'm beginning to get desperate...

when i got my 2 as jubeniles they didnt eat for a week
