oh man... Hope your bro lives close. So u can see them often. Look forward to a picture update :-)

good to hear that there was a bigger tank waiting for them.

Ya ade he's only 5min. away. Tank is in the garage and hard to photograph.

my biggest of the bunch is 7" now.....from mid dec.-now. Dime size to 7in. The smallest is 4.5in. I have 9 of the original 20...sold 11. Pics in a few days.

How'd you get them to grow so big in such a short period? At that rate it should be monster soon.

Yeah,what do you feed them?

When they were juvies....under 3in. I feed them like crazy! Like 5-10 times a day. NOw they eat massivore mainly w/ the occasional market shrimp. These guys got thick quick! And Id say outta the 4 indos that I have in my tank(moved 4 more to my bros 180), they are all 6in plus w/ the one being a good 7in.

And my ngt is at 9in!

Id guess the main reason they grow so fast is that amount of wc's I do. I have quite a stocked tank so Im doing wc's every other day....and cleaning my filters once a week. If my ngt is 9in....how big are my cichla :)

Very nice..I have a small oddball indo that I just picked up.It has a bar on one side that looks like an upside down V.It is about the size of a dime and it takes small cuts of fillet and freeze dried krill at the surface.I want to see how long it takes to get it up to decent size.

well its been about 9 months for mine to get that size. I had 20 to start with. Make sure you feed em often and keep the water quality good. The sooner you get em to start eating pellets the better.

Okay, will do.I did try some softened sinking pellets but it tasted one of them one time, spit it out and did'nt bother again.I figured I'd try them again after it gets a little gigger.

try and see if you can mix in some crushed pellets w/ the filets. A large variety of food is key so they dont get used to one kind of food.
