Tiger set up: Now Sorted!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have to agree with the black back ground

but not the bare bottom

unless the fish are in a fish shop for temp housing then bare bottom is OK

the reason your tigers may look bright is easy to see from your pictures it looks like light is bouncing of the tank base and lighting them up from below

i read in another of your posts that you no have a ray
rays need substrate and have taken millions of years to evolve to live in the substrate

the font would also like digging in the substrate

all are just my opinions

the fish look great

Never thought of light reflecting and so enhancing tigers colours....
My light is quite dim though, I use one 20 watt (2ft flourec. Tube), and when I had silver sand, that seemed to bounce more light back in.
10 days ago, I sold 11 inch indo , he was a particularly agressive, and since he has gone, other tigers seem more settled, not being chased everywhere.

They look good Ade-I don't do BB but thats my preference and everyones entitlted to theirs!

Couldn't agree more rob!
It's good getting honest opinions and views from other datnoid emmthuisiasts, all whom have different stunning tank set ups, with equally impressive tigers/fish on display.

Still not 100% sure if it'll stay that way, always wanted black sand but can ,never find it.
won't change tank for several months now.

You can get Caribsea Tahitian Moon Sand-I used it a few years back but its very fine and light. If you want some amazing substrate check the Aquaessentials website-their sand and gravel are fantastic and very natural
