hello, a few months back I purchased a 1.5 inch tiger shovelnose catfish, in the first 2 months he went from 1.5 inch to 5 inch pretty quickly, but the last month he hasnt been eating, and the growth is minimal, any reasons why this is happening? i keep the temp. of the tank at 80 and for now hes in a 150 gallon ( 5ft X 2ft x 2ft) with some medium sized cichlids

Something must have changed since its good first two months. I'd troubleshoot everything possible and likely. Maybe cichlids bother it. Maybe your water contains toxins.

well i checked the water everything looks good, the only thing i can think of is i switched him from a 75 to the 150 after the 2 months, maybe he doesnt like the new tank? i looked for scratches or torn fins from the cichlids but his body is not harmed

agree with the guys, we need more info, but, if he's a baby going from a tank where the food comes to him to a whole new "grown up" tank where there are many mouths chasing down the food, I think you are to expect a lull, and settling in.

Agree with above. Please list all cichlids, and sizes. My guess would be the “new guy” is likely not getting his share at feeding time. Perhaps attempt target feeding the cat, after lights are out.
