Some fish grow quick, I had a bullhead go from under 3" to over 9" in about 4 months.
 
This is my little guy. I got him at two inches and he is 20 inches now in a 210 gallon. Im upgrading soon for him. He wont eat anything except for koi, and even ignores my silver hujetas and my juropari. Very very cool fish, but id start with at least a 6x2 tank and upgrade from there. Mine is still growing quick.

as long as you understand the needs for this type of fish and you will upgrade tanks when needed you will be ok.also its going to be a big fish to look after for a long time when fully grown.
i would love one but at the moment i cant get a tank for the tsn needs.
 
tsn grow too fast and are too big to be kept in aquariums put em in a pool
 
I've seen several tanks that could house one for life.
 
mine is 16inch and im planing to build a 1000g pond for him 16ftlong 6ftwide and 3ftdeep.
work starts in 4weeks time.

as long as you know you will haft to get rid of him or get bigger tank. oh and that they eat anything that fits in there big mouths. then i say get one. i love them. awsome fish
