Of course people are gonna flame you when you ask about putting a fish that could grow 2'+ in a 60g...and then all the sudden you have a 240 and a pond as well? We see the same thing every day; someone asks about a fish, and when people tell them they need a bigger tank, they say something like "oh yeah, I have this other huge tank too, just forgot about it." Not saying you don't have the tank, just trying to explain where some of these guys are coming from.

Trout might survive your winters, but they're not gonna survive summers in a small pond...unless you have plans for a HUGE chiller.

Because most of us aren't @$$hole businessmen...a lot of us actually care about fish and dont want to see them suffer and die needlessly.

The bottom line? This is a forum about the FISH not for everyone to whine when they dont hear what they want. People join this forum because they care about fish, so they're gonna let you know when your doing something wrong. Put on your big boy pants and deal with it.

:ROFL: sorry not taking sides at all, but the big boy pants thing made me spit my drink out. lol

So what did he do wrong? hahahaha, ASK about where to find a fish? I don't recall him asking for a care sheet on them. It's silly to imply that i care any less about the fish then you do.

If you read the thread though, he wasn't looking for them but stumbled upon them when looking for something for his 60 gallon and now wants to know where to find them. I suppose he should go build a pond before he even knows if he can acquire the fish? personally, i dont' see how flaming ever helps anything but i guess that's your view on how to be helfpul

Anyways, enjoy your day

:iagree: most of this thread is way off topic of the original question of "Where can I find this fish". After he finds the fish, inquires about it, then the topic should be changed over for how to properly care for that fish.

Oh yea I can totally see how much you respect fish, seeing how you play with their carcass in your avatar. You need to read from the start, i clearly stated i was originally looking for sunfish for the 60g. If your bored i suggest you pamper your own fish that you care so much about, and not post something pointless here, because you know damn well your post is not going to stop me or anyone you derail on not purchasing what they want.

Well, usually if someone want to find a fish it means they want to keep it. He stated that he wanted to put it in a 60 gallon, which is why we gave him advice not to do that.

The things I highlighted makes you sound like a spoiled child, you know you can't keep the fish yet you are going to try anyways? That sentence right there is why us MFK'ers hate giving advice, because people always go against it, even if it is the right thing to do.

I<3fish, i have no interest in keeping them and would like to know where they could be found for various reasons (be cool if i could see them in person, i'll know where to direct people if the question ever comes up again, etc etc)

So can you and the rest of the MFK'ers, as you called them because i'm apparenlty not one of them, please stop flaming the OP and Me and share where they can be found or just admit that you don't know?

I did not flame you and don't see why you thought I did.

Would it make you feel better if i order some for dinner? Last time i checked, flaming is not informative.
I would agree that flaming is not informative, but are you implying that I was flaming you? I will admit that there were several rude responses in this thread, but become sarcastic and aggressive and flaming back is not helpful either. Your original post mentioned a 60 gallon tank and where to find trout with no clarification that the trout were not meant to be kept in that tank. Being surprised and offended when this caught people off guard and not simply explaining the situation in a nice way didn't help things for your thread.

lol, it doesn't matter, this thread is so derailed. Anyways, if anyone has any information about where else they can be found, i'd appreciate it.

call DFG. they can help you find most of the trout farms in the u.s. id start with the DFG located in the state where these trout can be fished. ive been fishing the eastern sierras forever and have never seen 1. id love to pull a few out of the beaver ponds or east walker that would be rad. i recently saw an ad on craigslist where somebody turned a refridgerator into a chiller. looked like you could do it for next to nothing minus cost of a used fridge.. if bass pro shops can have 3 foot bows n browns swimming in there pond so can we! lol
