Th post your referring to implies that hes looking for a tiger trout for his 60g...he wasnt clear at all what his plans were.

You know what? I wasn't trying to take sides, I was explaining why people attacked you like they did, but since you attacked me like a snotty little brat, your on my $#!% list too. The fish in my avatar is now on my wall. If you want to see more pictures of me with dead fish, just ask ;)

I said @$$hole business men, not that business men are @$$holes, or your an @$$hole. If you want to take things out of context though, that's fine, I really DGAF what you think.

There are some private lakes here that have them. Let me know if your interested in details.

I don't think any fish can survive 75-79c.

Cute list, make sure you let your mom know i've been a really bad hobbysts :welcome: .

Sorry man, didnt read everything you commented. I apologize, too many flamers and i don't have time to read through everything. I was off on that one :screwy:

We have tiger trout at my old college hatchery, study aquaculture there it's in Morrisville, NY. Along with the tigers we had tilapia, rainbows, brook, and browns. We raised about 2 batches of around 12,000 fry each of tigers a year, right now they should be around finger length or longer. And yes even though this is a college hatchery for learning you can still walk up to it and talk to Ryan assuming he still works there, and ask to see them. As far as housing you will need a pond koi pond might work if it is dug deep enough.

I put them in my 30 foot deep pond about a year ago, seem to be doing fine and come to me every time I come because they've learned I proved food, I caught my biggest I know of in my own pond ice fishing for my bass it was 16inches and i got them when they were 8-12 inches, good luck

the only problem with keeping trout in california is the summers are too warm for them.

I have always liked keeping trouts and salmons, check out artic char, dolly varden, bull trout, and kokanee, even more colorful when in breeding colors.

As for tank size, yes the native fish keepers of America are very uptight about this subject. At the same times its ok to eat the damned thing or go hunting, but not to keep a trout in a 60 gallon tank.

this subject comes up over and over again, tank size., no matter what you keep them in, its not big enough, compared to the lakes or rivers they inhabit. On top of that, a tiger trouth is a man made hybrid, no risk of extinction here, made for human tourture by hooking in mouth and releasing or killing, I don't see where the problem is here. I'm so sick of self righteous people...

conclusion, you probably would have a hard time keeping it, if you ask too many questions you'll probably get flamed. better you hook it and throw it back in the water, or fillet it, and you will be left alone

Wow man, chill out; some of us get a little touchy if you mistreat the fish we love. The same way you might feel if we put a RTC or Peacock Bass in a 60g for life (at least I would hope you would feel that way). If you cant properly care for a pet....dont get it;it really dosent matter what fish or animal it is, theres no use in shortening an animals life for no good reason (eating wild animals is a good reason unless your a vegetarian).

That's just immature & disrespectful, everything he commented is true regarding this topic. He Meant No matter how far people strive to set a natural habitat for their pets, it's never going to replace the wild...so point is when an animal is captured it's doomed from there  Go play Peta somewhere else, he didn't mean it's fine to put any fish in any size tank like and idiot would think.

Every individual has their own morals to live by, and i guess i can say i appreciate you sharing your input on fish keeping, but seriously comparing your Knowledge with FuguPuff is like comparing Eistein with Billy Bob Thorton.

All Hail Fugupuff!

We would not have this website if not for the extreme hobbyist here.
