Just to give you an idea.. my lil' "fluffy" was 3" when I purchased him. maybe 2.5".. I've had him less then 2 months now and he is solidly pushing 8" now. They are also very skitterish at first and can be hard to get eating well. mine still refuses pellets, only eats live. And has just started eying up frozen. If you're looking for something for your 55 for life consider a sun/eclipse cat. or a jaguar cat. My guy has just recently stopped freaking out, which you have to be very careful about as they can do some major damage to their faces. But having said all of this, If you do your research to what these cats really need. They can be a very rewarding fish to keep. My fiance teases me that fluffy watches me... and he does.. you look him in the eyes and I swear the gears are turning... lol.
