I am setting up a 10'X4' acrylic tank, mostly rays and aros. Opinion on whether a tigrinius and RTC would get along, provided they are roughly same size?
I don’t see that working out for very long, year or so tops. And you’ll have a RTC that you can’t get rid of eventually. I would just leave it at the tig and Ray’s personally, maybe a few large Congicus/ansorgi bichirs. Goodluck tho sweet dimensions.
From my experience you will have a problem with the RTC and the Tig... as well as the arros....my RTC as swallowed a bunch over the years. That sounds like a great tank. I'd do the Tig, some rays, arros. That would be a great tank and you shouldn't have any tank mate problems.
as Bob has mentioned rtc eat anything that fit in their mouths. One of my ray breeder friends had an rtc eat one of his rays, so he often advises not to keep them together unless the ray is more than double the size of the rtc mouth.
I woudnt keep the rtc with anything that fits in his mouth keep a tiger shovelnose with him I had a tigrinus and arawana and shovel nose together i
and had no problems in 180 gallon tank
Alright then. Looks like the RTC is going to go into a different tank! I have a white painted 150 gallons, so that will do for now. Plus the WTT might help fix the platinum colouration, or at least shouldn't hurt. I'll post up some photos/video soon.
