Tigrinus and Lince cat in the same tank, can they co-exist ?

I know sometime two tigs can start fighting if they ever come close. What about Tig and a Lince, since the Lince will be constantly moving...

They'll be in a 10 ft long tank, so there are plenty of room for one to claim its territory.

PS: Lince will be about 18", tig is about 20"

IMO and IME, it is a trial and error. If you managed to conduct an all-inclusive poll, the votes would be split like 50-50. I have read reports of keepers whose tigs and jurs attacked other brachyplatystomas and EVEN other large pims (the looks are important here). Mine never did, except each other.

I don't expect you to care about my opinion, but IMO you are vastly underestimating the territory a grown large pim claims. "Plenty of room" in this sense would be 10,000-100,000 gal, not 400-500 gal.

I have had 2 tigs in one tank, 22 and 20", they co-exist perfectly fine since one hangs out the opposite of the other tig. Being 10 feet away from each other definitely helps.

My biggest concern is the fact that the lince is constanly moving within the tank.

I do not have the lince yet, seriously considering it if there's a chance that they can co-exist. I'd hate to move the tig into smaller tank.

Right. 10 feet sure help but I am still a bit surprised yours were 100% peaceful with each other (I'd expect no more than 90%, if one could quantify it :) ). Perhaps sexes matter, ages too. My two jurs situation is a bit similar to your two tigs (8" each in a 5'x1.5' tank) but every time they meet, a split-second vigorous fight ensues and the dominant one chases the other until it loses interest. And the dominance keeps switching.

I find your concern quite valid - lince will be constantly intruding and going by the tig. I wish someone who has housed two together chimes in but the scenario shoud be comparable - fish sizes and the tank footprint.
 
I have seen people commonly house lince with tigs,and most people dont seem to have problems with aggression. T1karman had a lince with a tig and they cohabitated fine. If you read his threads about his lince you will see what he says. My lince used to scrap with a leiarius pictus over shrimp, but just a little during feeding,nothing serious. My tank was 8ft. and lince was 20, and pictus was 16 .

It's possible that I may have just got lucky, the only bickering that I saw before was only during feeding...usually I feed on both side of the tank around the same time.

Not really LOL, you'd be surprise how much you will get used of the 10 ft tank and it becomes an average tank LOL

I have done a lot of searches and I did notice T1 and his. I can always put the tig in the smaller tank, but he likes the 10 footer LOL
 
The potential for conflict is always there but in your case I think it will be minimal. imo you should give it a shot because lince don't pop up very often because i've been trying to find one for a while. Hope all goes well though, I'm intrested to see how it plays out good luck stan!
