I have 2 small tigs, problem is they wont eat anything apart from live feeders which im trying to wean them off. Same with a jurense I have. Tried staving for 4 days then feeding bloodworm, chopped worm, prawn etc. Any ideas please?

try feeding them at night.. keep water clean and well oxygenated. and they should start eating

Patience is what I would say. May take a little while so some to wean away from live

dude 4 days is nothing..my TSNs survived MONTHS without food....although u usually wont have to wait thattttt long..for my other catfish it took about 1-2 weeks AT LEAST! even then, they didnt really gobble the dead food until 1 month into the change of diet....good luck! dont give up! a healthy fish will NEVERRRR starve themselves...

I would say don't starve them more than 2 weeks at a small size, and make sure you are offering what ever food you want them to eat every night. I generally wait till my fish are in the 8-12" size range if they are on feeders before weening.

Oh yeah, another note is that the big boy at 37" has went for 6 months one time without anything. He got really skinny, but ate really good since then, and is thick as all get out now.

Cheers, they are only 4"-6", problem is here in the UK feeders cost alot so it cost £3-£5 a night.

HAve big filtration on tank but still worried about uneated food with dead. Will keep trying.

For tigrinus, you need to put food in front of his mouth for him to take it. Use a net to move the food as close to his mouth as possible. Mine had no problem with eating frozen shrimp, since the day I got them home (two 5 inchers which had grown to 7-8 inchers nicely :))
