Tigrinus only eat live, advise please

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Like everyone already said, 4 days is nothing. All the tigs I have raised have had no problems switching to shrimp. Just give it more time, they are not real fussy eaters.

Cheers, will try again soon. Will be nice to get on pellets. They were in together but one was bigger and had ago at smaller one while starving so no more.

Have you tried Mysis shrimp? I just brought in two wild caught Tig's (4&5"), and within a week both are eating Mysis like pigs. You can tell they can't see very well, b/c as soon as the food hits the whiskers they snap it up pretty quickly.

If you can't get him off live feeders, try to feed them live blackworms. At least you won't be exposing them to parasite in live feeder fish.

Get him really really full, then starve him for a week at a time, try to feed them akrket shrimp. Also, try to give the chopped shrimp 3-4 times a day. Preferably at night.

If nothing happens for 2-3 days, switch back to live blackworms for another week, then try it again.

Eventually they'll give in..

dude 4 days is nothing..my TSNs survived MONTHS without food....although u usually wont have to wait thattttt long..for my other catfish it took about 1-2 weeks AT LEAST! even then, they didnt really gobble the dead food until 1 month into the change of diet....good luck! dont give up! a healthy fish will NEVERRRR starve themselves...

He is absolutly right, my tig did the same thing try throwing krill in at the same time as the feeders so he recognises it as food . he will take it trust me
