do all jurnese get full grown get those color on them. it looks better then the tigrinus

No, not all jurunese will look like this. This is a variant collected from a less common area, than the common jurunese that is black and white. I would say it's more rare than the tigs.

zero. They are not the same variant. You have to specifically buy a flash tiger or flash zebra.

so what u mean jurnese are different then flash zebra.

how much will it cost to get a flash zebra?

Personaly dont buy into the whole "flash" thing, there is no proof of colour varients at all, I have had two juruense, unfortunately lost the first, but both have shown what some people call the "flash" colours, and are just regular juruense.

Mine looks pretty much the same as in your video, just a regular juruense.

As far as I know its just suppliers naming juruense with nice colours "flash" so they can ask even more cash for them.

Also there colours vary alot from day to day, some days mines almost black, other day its colours arew VERY bold.

They are all just juruense to me, untill someone can show me proof of two varients, and so far no one on any site or forum has been able to.

o thats how it goes. i was wondering why is the tigrinus cost more then the jurnese when the jurnese are adult has so much more color to it?

Completely disagree with this statement, these days literaly EVERYONE says there juruense is a "flash".

Really poor picture, just took it on my phone and its still early so low light, mines showing black/white atm, when I got him he was totaly yellow/white, tonight he will likely be yellow/white.

Flash or not?

Water conditions, food etc etc are what makes them different, not a different strain.

Spoke to several owners who have bought a "flash" for it only to go almost completely black a few weeks after they get it home.

Btw that Juruense is only about 5 maybe 6" long.

To bring out the yellow? I have no idea tbh, some days he blatently a "flash" other days he blatently a normal juruense, same as my last one was, I cant see how there is a distinction between two colourations when the same fish can show both.

As for food he has prawns chopped up, sinking carnivore pellets, bloodworm, various bits of frozen type foods including beef heart also occasionaly has a feeder or two, this is two days after he managed to eat a 2" congo tetra that was maybe 1/2 to a 1/3 of his size :nilly:

Check out planetcatfish http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species=brachyplatystoma+juruense&species_id=566 they have pictures of so called "flash" and regular juruense together, and dont make any distinction between the two.

Maybe the colour is PH related, when I originaly got him he was VERY yellow, like the one in the youtube vid, two days later he was white.

Now sometimes he is yellow, sometimes white, changes like cichlids do.

the jurnese is a very interesting fish having color change on days. can u keep both together in a tank?
