6.is $450 good price for one that is 8-9"?

10.how much do they normally go for(juvinile or adult)

mine was $15 for a 2" now its 4" long in one month now lives in a 90g to grow and saw a 10" for $85 at lfs. reports of 3ft-30+" and have long life span, will eat anything that can fit in its mouth. S.America. i think a tsn is the same catfish.

they are not the same catfish a tigrinus is black and white and a tiger shovelnose is totally different

LoL I love how you said that you need to do some research and you just asked questions! Doesnt research mean reading through stuff to find out things on your own? I think you should have said, "can I interview you tigrinis experts!"

2. Nothing is hard as long as you keep the fish's basic requirements in mind. A strong current, well oxygenated water, and tankmates that won't pester the tig to death.
3. Pim cats in general are very long lived. I'd imagine 5-10 years?
4. Aggressive in the sense that they will eat smaller tankmates.
5. Unless you've got a really big tank, mixing Pim cats is risky business.
6. Depending on the quality, it may be on OK price. You can find better deals.
7. Brach.Tigrinum
8. You won't find them in Petco

That price would be really steep IMO, Raul/Alberto have brough in 2ft'ers for $500 before, I would expect around $180-$250 for one that size. Most of the major suppliers carry them but the best time to get them for an affordable price is comming up around late october/november in the 4" size. Last year the price to beat was $80 bucks for a 3-4".

The only thing I would disagree on is Pim cats together. I think they can be kept perfectly fine together with other Pim's as long as they are similar sizes ie +/- 2" so as long as you don't do something dumb like put a 4" cat with a 20" cat....I mean...thats just common sense. And the tank requirements were right on the money, it needs well oxygenated water and a big tank. Ideally a 2ft cat should have a tank way wider then 2ft so even a typical 240 is gonna be to small for an adult Tigrinus. I would say 450+ gallons for the tank or ultimately a indoor pond. Hopefully I'm getting a 12" one this comming week so I can comment further on it then ~Trent
