tigrinus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree that a tigrinus standing upright is a stressed fish and that this is not a normal behaviour. Same goes for shovelnoses, which also do this when stressed or when lack of hiding places.

not ture... my tig does with all day and when the lights go off he is out and about....

he goes near the surface...

ime this is common with young tigs..
i grew out 5 to 6" last year from there ''grey'' stage
they all did that for the few months i had em

Maybe with youngs i dunno? Or maybe something was bothering them...all of them? lol I ain't no expert with tigrinus, but i can say that whenever i saw a stressed one, or in a bare-bottomed tank with no decor, he would stand like this. When I saw them in a suitable environment, never saw them do that.

My shovelnose was constantly doing this at the lfs when I bought it, the poor thing. Once at home, never did it again...

well please do not get offened... but i had 1 + the 5 i grew out (lost 1 b.c heater broke) and the one i have now...

my biggest is about 12" and it did it from time to time...

i can not be sure on larger tigs like 14+ "
