Nice tig! How old is it? How big is that tank? What are you feeding?

I got him at about 5" in March of 2008 so about 2 years and 3 months plus his age at 5". I'll guess about 3 years or so. He won't eat pellets by themself so I feed him fish filets and prawns sliced open and stuffed full of Massivore or NLS pellets....and I only feed him twice a week. The tank is 265 gallons-(7' x 2' x 2.5')

What a beauty. What were you feeding him at 5" and did he have a pretty straight bar pattern or oddball pattern as a juvenile? I've got one about 7" and I'm just hoping one day I will have a monster like you.

At 5" I was feeding cut up prawns, krill, mysis shrimp, bloodworms etc. His bars were straight up and down. They started forking apart as he grew. Here's a pic of him as a juvie to get a side by side comparison to see the striping difference. And what a difference there is. Look at the "V" with a "y" in it on his mid section in the adult pic. Where did that come from?

Wow thanks for the picture. You're right, very drastic difference. I purchased by tig 3 wks ago and I had a choice between straight bars like yours and an oddball pattern. I picked the straight bars... now I am glad I did. Thanks a lot for the post!
