Hey,
Just wondering if I could get some personal experiences from other people about Tigrinus and Jurense cats?

I'd really like to get either cat. I've read about them on scotcat, but I'd like to know more.

Would either work in a 150G?
What are acceptable tankmates? I was planning to house it with a florida/spotted gar.

Thanks for any info!

i have never kept one, but from what i understand, they are very fragile compared to most SA cats.

Yeah heard that tigs were fragile, and heard something about jurense being less fragile.

Love to hear more from anyone else!
:)

as with most fish, the expensive ones are prone to dying lol

treat them as you would a tsn, except with less food. They need calm tankmates who won't pick on them, especially their streamers. They need typical SA warm water, and appreciate hiding places

hi, i don`t know the price of tigs over there but over here they are by far more expensive!! both to be honest are fine with surface swimming predators the tigs are more docile with other mid to bottom fish imo have had 20" specimens and not a prob but indavidule fish will allways be different? Best thing to do is look at budget and then choose then stock accordingly! best of luck as both fish are stunning and an accet to any aquarium.

tigs do need more water flow in the aquarium ie out let tube through lower end of tank and when they get over 7" you are home sailing! imo.

I've never kept a TSN so... I wouldnt know how to treat one.
LOL. I do have a channel cat though, if that accounts for anything.
I've seen them kept with gar, so I'm goint to try that. If it doesnt work, gar go's bye bye at the first sign of stress on the cat.

I'm finding 6''-7'' tigrinus for $150 wich is a pretty good price IMO.

I do have some sort of budjet, but I really want a nice looking cat to go with the two gars, and tig came to mind first.

I'd love to hear more about Jurense though, I really like how they look like tigs, and the price aint bad either.

that is a great price for the tig!!! id grab it!

Personally i'd go with the Jurunese, they are cheaper and if they happen to die you can get another one and still be paying under the $150 you found a Tig for.. And the $150 for a Tig you won't find all the time either so usually if you do find one you better jump quick.
