Tilapia buttikoferi and Parachromis Dovii!!!!

I think everyone immediately thinks of the BIGGEST of each of these fish they have ever seen and draws their conclusion.

I personally think it will work. I have little doubt. I have been wrong before but we are talking 600 gallons. There will be a few scuffles but once they establish "their" side of the tank, life will be grand.

It doesnt wrk. I too have a 600 gallon tank with a male dovii 10" and he started destroying everyone else in the tank. this includes 16-18" alligator gars, 8-10" pairs of jags, cubans, freddies, loiselli, and rtms. I had to pull the dovii out. I think my tank pop. would have even been more possible with all those fish to distribute the beatings, but with your fewer fish, even worse.
Remember, although 600 is a lot, Its still only 8'. 600 gallons is over rated. An extra couple of ft thick and tall dont mean much to a dovii.

It depends on the individual Dovii AND Butti but give em a proper cave to focus their territorial aggression on and it's very possible. And a 600gal? I could make a skinhead and Kanye West live together in a 600 gallon! Also,I've had Buttis that totally dominate the Dovii and visa versa...

Having kept both species (to maturity!), I have to say I've never seen anything with the capability of destroying another fish like a dovii.

my mate keeps a big pair of dovvi in a big community. butti, aro, umbee.
thats only 850 litres! a 600 gal is massive just set it up right. but be prepared, its all trial and error.

its not that big, I look at it every day. If your fish are big enough, it doesnt matter how you set it up. Obstructed line of sight, territory borders, ect., it wont matter with the typical dovii and typical butti. Especially paired.
try it. Im just saying, unlike every one else just guessing how it would turn out, I actually tried it in my 600 and it failed!

Remember that 50,000 gallon tank? I'm pretty sure one Dovii took out about half of his monsters within a week. I'd vote 'nay' on Butti and Dovii. It's like two male bettas in a twenty gallon. Probably a fail. Just more expensive in your case.

My female Dovii laid about 1000+ eggs yesterday in my 200 with the Butti pair and 10" male Midas,its working for me...
