Heh, from my experience they are my all time favorite cichlid. EXTREMELY intelligent little buggers. They like to school and swim in packs, that is what they do int he wild. Ive heard and seen many cases where a buttikoferi has killed off a fully stocked 250 g tank filled with the meanest Cichlids in the business. They are tough sons of guns, but from my experience I've seen a lot they have became friends with oscars and have become peaceful even at a large mature size. I really think each one has it's own unique personality. A splendid cichlid I must say!
