I still need to pick up my granite but I'm either going to just lay them on the bare glass or use a small amount of aquarium silicone to glue a rubber washer to each corner to make soft feet for each tile. I'm leaning towards bare glass. I'm going to experiment with the 55's in the basement before I do my show tank.
The 55g's in the basement are bare bottom now and all the poop collects on the far side of of the tank(away from the AC 110) in a nice little pile. I'm hoping that I can get the seams tight enough so this continues to be the case (and they stay that way). I fear that alot poop will start to settle around the outer perimeter of the tiles because it's hard to be tight and exact around the silicone. For the show tank I would be ok with the extra maintenance.
