Anyone got pics of tiled Ray tanks? What kind of tile did u use? Looking to maybe do my tanks tile instead of sand.... Any problems? My only concern is stuff getting under/between tiles...

I love that look. What I'm thinking is dry cut all your pieces first. Then you use silicon to fasten them to the bottom, then fill all joints with black silicone!!!

I've been wanting to do tile, attach it with silicone, and just put a small amount of fine gravel on top to help keep algae down. Anyone has success with this?

I used to have tile. same problem as everyone else with the algae. if you cut them good enough they will lay down just fine against each other and no cracks big enough for anything to get in.

I did a tiled tank to my 180 it was ok . One thing you could do is 24" tiles if you need to pull some out for what ever reasons there big so fewer pieces to mess with.

Anyone will to share pictures?

I did slate, cut them myself out of new roofing slate. Loved it. But same issue as others though, Algae. And I wanted the rays to behave more naturally having the ability to sift.
One advantage to using roofing slate is they have a flat back that almost suctions to glass bottom so food/waste doesnt get under them. And inbetween gets vaccummed right up.
