if the stand is not FLAT...IE. Has high spots...then yes theres a danger to the glass tank from stress. However...if the stands simply not LEVEL (Big differance) then don't worry about it. A 40 breeders very strong for it's size and it's also supported by the bottom frame so the glass is NOT laying directly on the stand. This frame is siliconed to the tank glass so that provides yet another layer of protection from stress.
