Hi

Quick one.

What is the average time of seeing the first signs of movement in a motoro and her giving birth?

Does ~40 days sound about right?

Cheers

I'm interested to know as well as I'm expecting for my superspot motoro. I don't know when the male tagged her, but her back is getting huge and moving. It'll be my first time as I lost two pairs already due to inexperience. I'm researching a lot now to be sure that the pups when they'll come will survive.

I noticed movement a little over 2 weeks ago. So shouldn't be too long then, another couple weeks. The movement is much more obvious and frequent now, compared to when I first noticed.

I've had one litter so far. The time between me first seeing movement and birth was 105 days. Probably not typical.

I have read a few articles where temperature made a different in time.

Can you please post up the information you have read in regards to time and temp?

My rays are kept at 27/28C

I now have two females that are showing movement, with my third adult looking chubby (no movement in her yet but i'm guessing it will happen pretty soon).

The first female I noticed with movement was on the 13th of last month, so that is 37 days for her and probably around 30days for the other female. Both are still pregnant, movement isn't quite as frequent, but a lot more 'brutal' when you do see movement, sometimes I wonder how the pups haven't busted out of her skin.

Still watching and waiting, feels like forever.

Pup tank is ready to roll. Set up a 4'x3'x1.5' for the pups.

Sounds that you've got it all planned out. Had 3 puppies this morning. If you have the male on the tank, i would suggest taking him off as the day before she gave birth, the male was chasing her non-stop. the male bit one pup also and I was lucky I was awake studying early morning and I saw the pups.

Best of luck on yours.
