I was talking about making the 3% Epsom salt solution (soak pellet if fish is eating) stickied in RD's post and force feeding the Epsom salt solution to your fish (since your fish isn't eating). It's all in the post discussions.mush up some peas and use a syringe? I could do that
Epsom salt solution!!! You just need to get a bit of the solution into his belly to help clear him out. If you want you can soak and mash some pellets... Even put a bit of mashed peas if you'd like. Mix it all into a mush... Then force feed. Use the 3% salt solution in his belly and a Epsom salt bath.he is young. 18 months old. I will try the bath and force feed him peas tonight
If he's bad And won't feed I would syringe him with soaked solution of Epsom salt with pellets. That way he'll have some energy and meds. When I syringe don't shoot him up lol watch YouTube video on how to use clear for Flowerhorn. Good way to put any meds down.Epsom salt solution!!! So nothing is working. How often smash the peas up so there mushy and put it in the water believe me he will be fine Gt are very strong cichlids don't stress him out just try the mushed peas and he will be fine
You can do that if you'd like. I think just orally ingesting the salt will work with less stress from both force feeding and the Epsom bath holding tank. 30 minutes is a bit much as it is the max. If you'd like You can make the peamash/pellet/epsom solution (like Ihsnshaik said I personally would do pellet and Epsom without the peas) and have a bucket with the epsom salt bath. Fish him out and force feed the mash and then put him in there for no more than 15-25 minutes the first time. Keep an eye out for signs of distress!
You should hit up the search bar on the forums. Some people have had success with other options. Such as using Metronidazole with the Epsom bath. Others use clout or prazi with success. Everything is normally outlined step by step. I would go forth with the Epsom salt treatment, but do some research on other options. What works for me may not work the best for you and your fish. For example: I don't like using heat and salt for ich like everyone else (had a bad experience where only a long drawn out process with meds cleared it... Super ich maybe?). I now hit it with meds from the
start formalin/mg combo and that works best for me for even sensitive fish. Good luck!
30 mins. its not going to hurt the fish at all. I've accidently given fish 45 min Epsom salt/meth. blue baths and they were fine.So nothing is working. How often should I give an epsom bath?
