I'd go with the freshwater inverts - I had a 30g tank, low light planted w/ fresh water inverts that I loved so much I just upgraded them to a 75g tank! I tossed a sponge filter in there, to help with water movement and my shrimp think they have died and gone to heaven!

Go with a blue ringed octopus, and don't hesitate to put your hand in. They love people...

To the OP, the only options you posted that would work would be the first three. I voted for the first one. I definitely wouldn't do SW if I were you since you are obviously inexperienced (heck, I would go SW w/ my own 10+ years of fish keeping experience). Also, if you are completely new to the hobby, I would start out with a larger tank (at least a 20g), because cycling a small tank takes forever and it is difficult to maintain optimum water conditions in a small tank (especially with SW from what I've heard). I would personally stock it with ghost shrimp, some platies and a couple of dwarf gouramis (assuming you have enough filtration to handle it). Do not get two male bettas unless you have a divider, otherwise they will definitely kill each other.

Ok lets not jump to conclusions here. I posted to get opinions on what should go in the tank. All of these options are from here and other sources. I have more than enough fish keeping experience to undertake any of these projects. some more difficult than others, some crazy ideas but interesting. I have larger tanks capable of handling any fish that outgrows this ten. I am looking for something different to try, something to test my skills as a fish keeper. I have a ten gallon tank cycled and I thought this would be an intrewting project. so have fun with it. Pics of the process to follow from beginning to end.

some of your option choices would indicate otherwise, even the most novice of fish keepers know that you cant house 2 male bettas together in the same tank nor can you cram 50 cardinal tetras or a single discus in a 10g with success while including the welfare of your animal. this is why i came to the conclusion i did, that you probably dont have the experience to handle such delicate marine systems if your making such basic freshwater fish keeping errors.
im also curious as to what source recommends putting the 3 options above into action?

the three ideas mentioned are not just "crazy but interesting", as you colourfully put it, they are out right ludicrous.

thats one way to put it.

you are getting opinions like you requested and it appears you dont like what your reading.

^^^I agree:iagree:

First of all, with out provoking a riot. I am a girl.

The ideas came from this thread and one like it on another forum.

I never said that i agree or disagree that the options are intelligent, all I said is that they are interesting.

You can weigh in all you would like, and I never credited or discredited the things that were said here. This is a POLL

I do not have to defend my experience in the hobby, All I said is I have a ten gallon tank and I am looking for something challenging to keep to test my skills. Leave a suggestion like many other people. Not once did I rake someone over the coals for any opinion they provided. I merely took in suggestions and turned it into a poll.

This is suppose to be a fun exciting project. So relax and enjoy

regardless of being "challenging" or "crazy & interesting" those three aforementioned options are ridiculous and pretty much impossible.

I understand that you want to do something challenging but I would like to give you one piece of advise. What ever you decide to do make sure you spend a great deal of time researching it before doing anything. This is especially true if you decide to do a reef tank. If you have never done one of these before and don't know much about it I strongly suggest you read everything you can to learn and not start anything until you feel very confidant that you know what you are doing. Remember what ever you decide to do you will have living things lives in your hands and the knowledge you bring with you will determine of they live or die.

Heres my opinion,

the cardinals, discus, bettas, and pipefish will not work in a ten gallon tank!
octopus, seahorses, loaches, darters for me would be fun as I have never had these
and the inverts and nano reef I have already done at some point and would be ok to do again!

Many of you have gotten into the spirit of this endeavor will others have taken the fun out of "outside input into what I should do" This was suppose to be fun, like reality fish keeping where you all give the input and I create it.

Don't be a party pooper and just tell me what you think should go into the tank.
