timers ...?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use one for my main planted tank.. but otherwise turn lights on and off by hand on the rest. and a few tanks I don't even have lights on.. being consistant w/ light on/off is imo better for the fish.. their internal clocks seem to know. Many of my nocturnal fish get active 1 hour before lights out/on. and I've freaked some of these fish out by turning lights on or off at odd times. when I was on 3rd shift.. so where my fishtanks. and they adapted to the light shift.. but would still be thrown off if I turned lights on during the day or off at night. more light sensitive fish imo get stressed out more then others ect.

consistancy imo is key to not stressing fish due to lighting.

thanks for the help guys.
i was asking bc i have a timer on my savannah monitors light sbc they seem to do better with them n i was curious if my fish would appreciate one. but i have a very dim light on my tank to give it that back woods swamp type lighting and i love it. and im usually not home all day so i like to leave the light on at night so i can enjoy my tank. what is the best night light ?
