Hey guys ive had a bass and a mangrove jack for about 2 months now, both about 5-6cm.

When the rooms dark and the tank lights off there out and swimming fine like norml fish, however when i turn the tank light on they dissapear into the driftwood not to seen for hours untill all the lights are off again. Also when i walk anywhere near the tank they freak right out and go hide, go all pale and look super stressed? But when the lights off again out they come all happy and jolly?

Ive owned natives for about 2 years now and have owned several bass and have never encountered this problem before which is why its got me stumped.
All the natives ive owned have been full of personality and outgoing etc..

Have i got duds or am i doing something wrong this time round?

Cheers all, kna0909

Have you got a full tank shot? Maybe there isnt enough cover for them to feel comfortable when lights are on?

Unfortunatly no tank shot atm, but the tank has a ton of driftwood in it which is where they bail to and dont come out, they dont even eat with the light on, its been like this for over 2 months

The tanks in the lounge room so theres lots of movement alot ofthe time, its where my tanks been for 2 years with no problems at all, the light is a built in led in the hood of an aqua one tank, its the only light we use in the lounge room apart from the light from the tv at night.
I turn the tank light off and they come out full of colour an personality ( i can see them from the light off the tv) but when that tank lights on they go pale, lean against the glass and breathe deeply and look really stressed!
