Timor monitors questions

You're just in luck, Varanio is selling a really nice subspecies of Timors. It's a trio too, not sure if they're sold yet though. They are a good species to start with and from what I know the males get bigger than the females.

The females are smaller than the males, they are flighty if you get them as WC adults, if youre lucky enough to find some at small size your odds at getting more calm animals will increase. I think they make great captives if youre into observing your captives and not wanting to hold them too much. Theyre high humidity lizards coming from Tropical Islands in the Timor Archaepelago right now there are some V Auffenberg which are related to Timor Monitors and are much more vibrant in colors available. However mine are no longer the case to be available.

Good luck on your search, they are cool animals one thing I would recommend if you get them is to tint the front window of the enclosure, youll witness more natural behaviors.

From what I've gathered so far, they're do tend to be alittle flighty. Was also thinking about Ackies but like the profile and colors of these alittle more.

The colorful monitors that look like Timors are V Auffenberg, close relative but has a different name. V Timorensis is more grey in color with white spots. V Auffenberg can be anywhere with blue red or green tints and blue spots. Hence the name Blue Spotted Timor. Peacock monitor would be of better use.

Did you see one at a pet store are you browsing through the net?

I would highly recommend you go with those since they are smaller. With them being younger they will have a greater chance of calming down. Thats what I did with mine.
