Just bought a tinfoil barb, tail is very light red but see through in the middle. DO these get nice and bright with age? I see lots of photos of these barbs and the tail is nice bright red. Anyone keep them have pics/advice?

Cheers

Steve

they do better in groups as they like to shoal. they also get large about 30+cm i think so a large tank is needed.

I know mine did get really bright red and shinny silver.. Looked great until my Tems had their way with them..:( They were at least 8-10 inches..

yeah i had the same concerns. i bought 4 of them when they were about 3". now they are about 7~8" and their fins have gotten a very nice deep red color. cant get pictures, those bastards are too fast!

I'm very happy with my Tinfoils. keep good water and good food so they keep the nice silver body and red fins. And ya you need more than one.

I have 5 in my 300 gal tank, baught them all small, 2.5 inches. 2 regulars, 2 albinos and one gold. I love the albinos as much as the regulars or more, the golds are just a bit more drab than the other 2 forms.
