Tinfoils

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 4 Tinfoils. Their fins are very bright orange/red. I've had mine about 3 years. They're all about 8''. I'll see what I can do for pics.

Keep in mind they never sit still.

Hm I got a question. Some of my tinfoil barbs (only like 2 inches at mow) have like tiny barbells, tiny ones compared to a koi, very thin, but looking closely you can see them. I just dont see them in the adult fish? Is this normal? What's going on?

The tinfoils are wonderful fish, its great to have the albinos and one gold too. They rarely stop, always swimming around all over and if you have a big tank it gets even more interesting they can travel more. Mine are growing like weeds so far, have the 5 of them in with 5 balas I just baught about 4 weeks ago and they are also growiing fast now and fast getting deep bodies, all seem extremely healty, the only small fish are the spanner barbs (to 7 inches) although they are growing they just dont grow as fast as the tins and balas. Most of my spanner barbs (but not all) are a form of the spanner barb called the "false spanner barb" with only one of the biggest speciemens the true species. Very interesting fish, I have 7 false spanners and one true regular, I may take the 3 smallest false spanners and give them to the pet shop and buy 3 more regulars later if I find them, that would leave me with 4 of each form.

Thanks for the tinfoils pics everyone!!!!!!!!!!
