Hi guys , just picked up a tiny 2'' armatus and wondering what would be a good diet for it. Can't find feeders so small all the time so maybe brine shrimp would do the trick? TIA :)

would suggest you find a good, constant source of small guppy feeders

It will require quite a bit of brine shrimp to give the armatus a full belly and it could degrade the tank water aLSO..Can you get to any earthworms that you could dig up and keep a supply of?

I dont think you will need a supply of guppies as they grow fast!! I would say 2-3 weeks of guppies till a promotion is needed :D.

If shipping is the only answer then you best start calling Lol. This should have been on the agenda before counting "The Banjanin$"

I would also treat him for parasites a.s.a.p (Id start with internal as external are usually visible). JMO ;)

What internal parasite medicine do you recommend for a 2" armatus?

There are a few different ones that treat for different types.

I like PraziPro. This is the schedule I do on a minimum of 2 weeks...
Day 1. 50% water change, water conditioner (I use Prime) and dose Prazi 1 cap ful per 50 U.S gallons
Day 2 Prazi per tank volume again
Day 3 Prazi per Tank volume
Day 4 nothing
Day 5 Prazi per Tank volume
Day 6 large feeding
Day 7 50% water change, Prime per tank volume and PraziPro per tank volume
Day 8 starts at "Day 2"
etc...

I do not feed my fish, only the day before a water change. If newly picked up fish, I would feed them for a few days then begin the PraziPro.

Prize Fish, I do minimun 3-4 weeks, over kill but thats me :D

I seriously doudt any payara can withstand a Prazziquantrel regement - hell cichlids can barely live thru it let alone a fish that is super sensitive to water quality and dissolved 02 quantites.

If your Payara doesn't have long stringy white poop WHY would you even attempt to treat with prazzi - you'll more than likely kill a healthy fish.
