Some more results:

My usual findings:
Day 15, no plants, nitrates 10-12 ppm.
Day 15, plants, nitrates 2.5 ppm.

I have all but eliminated my use of chemical media for filtration during my "tests".

(Miles may be correct)**** Pothos (species?) are in use in my setup. I made 12 cuttings of the vine each cutting had one complete leaf. Some cuttings had at least one visible root collar. Other cuttings had at least one "root" present. All were secured gently onto a styrofoam slab in their own respective holes through the slab. The slab was placed on the water in the sump.

I am having some difficulty reposting my pictures....i will figure it out soon.
Respectfully,
FireMedic.
