Here’s a little thread for updates on this guy. Got him a week ago he’s like .5” super small and just got him to eat. Tried dried bloodworms and didn’t take them so I got some live black worms. What else can I feed him at this size to help speed up his growth? Just want to beef him up so I can feed More variety food
He’s in a tank with few guppies and black soil and a single plant
So far I’m loving him what else can I put in his tank to make him feel comfortable.

Tiny and cute! Some bundles of floating plants like hornwort or elodea would also be good. The best growth comes from consistent feeding and clean water. Best of luck :D

Bloodworms, small snails not mts, blackworms, ghost shrimp or cherry shrimp if you can find them cheep enough, skuds, daphina. You can try chopped mussels or clams and shrimp. Remember snails or other shelled "crunchy" things need to be a good portion of the diet for tooth health and its though to aid in their digestion also.

Thanks will definitely get some floating plants
He’s tiny so you think 30 percent water change a week is okay?

I’ll look for live ghost shrimp
I’m afraid chopped muscles and shrimp he won’t like bc they arent Alive but I’ll try
Also I’ll put a piece of DW but what other plants are good ? I read they like to tear them up and uproot them

Look at the nitrates, and keep them as low as possible for the best growth :)
