i use ice rods for smallmouth bass in the spring :WHOA:

i figured it was an ice fishing rod because i did some googling after i bought it. i've seen a video on youtube of someone using the exact pole to catch a huge salmon i think. everything from crappie to bluegill fight really well on this pole.

i get a collapsable one everytime i go out to florida. but this year im goin to remember to take my own one lol

I have an UglyStik ice rod that I got for my daughter to use when she was 2 or 3. She has grown out of it, but I will break it out every once in a while when I go bike riding.

yeah i've only used them for ice fishing........have alot of fun w/ em when ya have a large pike on or what ever species it may be

i plan on it.

anybody else have a whacky/tiny pole they use on the regular? post pictures please. especially if the fish is bigger than your pole!

My brother uses a tiny spinning rod to catch trout out of little creeks and beaver ponds. I go to the other length extreme and use a fly rod, lol. We both are pretty successful. You would be amazed by the number of trout you can catch out of one tiny beaver pond.

Sweet, I am going to buy an ice fishing rod soon. They are dirt cheap here as the ice fishing season has just finished...

Hey, just wondering what you use to catch trout from a stream. I usually fish bass and pike.. Im guessing you use small spoons or grubs for trout?

hey man where in sd do you live? i live in santee. i just bought small rod and reel combo here at the walmart. i havent used it yet but i need someone to go fish with. the pole is about 4 feet long but its not collapsable. i have it in the back of my suburban. but it could easily fit in the front seat of a car. have you done much fishin this year? i wanna go but im unsure of where to start fishin
