Tiny white 'fleas' in RBP's tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
very common in P tanks usually to do with the type of feeding, feed a little less and make sure all uneaten food is taken out.
you can up the water changes too for a little while and this should get them under control.

My little nematodes have pretty much died down. Yup, I'm pretty sure they were feeding on the extra food in the tank. I usually drop in a piece of Tilapia fillet before I head to work, that way the fish have something to snack on other than each other.

I noticed that when feeding raw shrimp the nematodes multiplied a bit faster. Raw shrimp does foul up the water more, as there are pieces of the shell all over. I won't stop feeding shrimp, though. It's such a good food for them. The Tilapia is a bit cleaner, and still provides good nutrition.

I've sworn off feeders altogether. I've got waaaaay too much work into this tank and these fish to screw it up with poor nutrition and possible disease.

Also, follow me over to the DIY section. I've got pictures and a description of my DIY self-starting / flood proof overflow and sump system. Here's a teaser. There, I think I just successfully derailed my own thread! :headbang2:ROFL:
