Tips and Tricks wanted for breeding Convicts

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just did a 60% water change, and added some blackworms. I normally feed on some really good food I got from a friend (don't remember what it is called, but it looks like a fine, brown solid).

Here's hoping!

If that doesn't work you could always try the old standby... Barry White...

I have NEVER had a problem with them breeding... I've even kept them in unfiltered tanks with ammonia (when I was a kid) and they would breed...

I think I'll have to actually make a sign for a couple of my pairs ..."If the tank is a rockin... don't come a knockin" LOL

Water Changes, black worms and 78-80 degrees.
They like to spawn in caves so give them a few flower pots. You don't have to, they'll lay on the side of the driftwood too. But they'll go for the caves if they are there. Make sure you have plenty of places for the females to run in case they are not ready when the male wants some. I lost my white female last month because I removed a bunch of the hiding places and forgot to put them back.
