a small baby aro. in a 20 G is fine for a few months, may be for 7 months. all depends on its growth rate.
after, 7" you should be already planning to transfer it to a much bigger tank.

7 months in a 20gal are you tring to get a replica of brians avatar?...my current silver went from 2" on jan. 10 to 10" today...thats 8" in 4 months with 2" amonth growth...that is slow, my last silver was 22" at 7 months

1. Keep the water level low like 6-7 inches for now.
2. Try feeding some floating pellets which are soften with water before hand.
3. Once the fish start to eat, feed small meals regularly and it will build up mass fast.

Another thing to keep note is that always try to maintain the water parameter like ph constantly. ;)

we need to make a sticky, to much threads about raising baby juvies.

small aros, should be place in a tank by itself, be fed a variety of foods, that it is abe to eat.

tank should be around 80 degrees and water should be prestine. Ph of the water isnt important, just need it to be stable Ph conditions

Hello S Silverstone and welcome to the forum

If she has been raised on feeders, it sometimes takes a little while to get them to take pellets
and you will have to be a bit patient
It is dangerous to feed feeders as the can bring parasites and disease into your tank so for now, I would carry on trying pellets for a few days, if she still wont take pellets n 3 or 4 days i would then try and give her small pieces of fish or shrimp
If that still doesnt work..crickets, mealworms or. earthworms which being live foods she should take and keep her on this until she is a little bit bigger and then you can starve her for longer periods
These live foods dont usually carry parasites so there is no risk
You can continue offering pellets as well.. maybe soak the pellets in the juice of earthworms.

Sometimes it takes a little while to get them eating properly so you have to be a little patient

Finally.. if i may suggest.. start your own thread on your new baby (this thread is 7 years old) and you then use your thread to post and document the growth, development and any problems with your baby.
Post pictures of her as she grows..
Its nice to go back later and see it all from the beginning
