tips on feeding golden nugget

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You could make a paste for it and spread it on a slate of rock. Otherwise just feed close to it's hide out and when it's in the dark. How big is it, and how big is the tank?

edit nevermind... read your sig. lol.

Well it's a big tank for what is going to be a very small fish in it. Well it's going to have a favourite cave so you've got to feed it close. It'll compete with the other bottom dwellers easy enough, just feed at night so the dat doesn't get at it.

You can use a PVC tube to target feed it.

Probably won't enjoy not having anywhere to hide, along with your other plecos.

Yes can eat shrimp.

btw can they eat shrimp ??
You need to have caves and such to give them a place to hide in.

yes, but they need a balanced diet between veg material and protein. They eat little amounts often and you have to be quite dedicated to keep them healthy and alive. They don't really grow at all in captivity either.

That is unfortunate, mine is beautiful but he is very small, ~2". Will it be this size for its whole life?

Well I picked up one at about 1.5" at least a year and a bit ago... maybe a year and a half. It's about 3" now give or take. There is something obviously missing in captivity that effects their growth, they often do not grow more than an inch or a few than from when you get them. Either way, it won't be reaching it's potential by a distance.
