Tips on fixing acrylic top brace?

I have a 140 gallon(48x26x26) that has a broken top brace. I have the pieces and am wondering how I'd go about fixing it. Do I need to add extra support to it? Please give me any ideas, tips, or experiences that you have had with this issue. Thanks!

I'd say do a completely new brace out of acrylic or metal.

How would I go about making one from metal? Would I have to screw it in somehow?

What if I just cut the rest of the top off along the edge of the tank and used the weldon #4 to put a new sheet of acrylic on the top? I'd obviously have to cut new access holes. How wide does the support need to be that runs through the middle of the top?

Anyone have input on making a metal brace or making a whole new top to the tank? I could really use any and all advice on this issue please
