HOW TO EFFECTIVELY SELL ON MFK:

I. SIGNATURE:

A. You MUST create a signature!!! The best way to expose your vendor status is to display it whenever and wherever you post. Refer to the attachment below to see an example.

- In your signature, have your vendor name (see arrow #1) and forum displayed. We suggest that you use text size 6 and text color red for the display. Underneath the name, include a hyperlink to your MFK Vendor forum (see arrow #2), not your website. Also, please do not post a list of available fish in your signature. You must follow the outlined format.

II. STOCK LIST/SPECIALS:

A. Take the time to post a full stock list and/or any special deals that you may have in the General Buy and Sell forum. Remember, as per the new Buy and Sell rules, you are allowed to post 2 threads per week in there. Let the members know what is current.

- At the bottom of the stock/special list, post "For more information and pictures of livestock, please go here:" and provide a hyperlink to your Vendor forum.

III. VENDOR PARTICIPATION:

A. Participate in the forum areas that suit your market or that you have expertise in. Being helpful will elevate a member's trust and therefore will significantly increase the member's confidence in doing business with you.

- As an example, if you sell catfish, participate in the catfish forum, and so on. Also remember, the more you post, the more exposure you will get via your displayed signature. If you have 1000 posts, it means that you have 1000 avenues in other forum areas to generate interest and increase possible sales.

IV. PHOTOS:

A. Post pictures of your fish. After all, what is the first thing that members will ask for when seeing a fish for sale? Although it is time comsuming, the time taken to provide a picture will greatly increase the likelihood of a sale, not to mention that it proves that you have the fish in stock and ready to go.

- Format your Vendor forum as follows. a) Post a thread with a certain type or grouping of fish. b) Provide a little bit of information and pricing. c) Post a picture or pictures of the fish for sale. d) Repeat this process for all of the fish that you want to sell. Having individual threads for individual or groups of fish will aid you in organizing inquiries. If you have 100 fish in one thread and 100 members ask about 100 fish, it will be hard to keep track, so keep groups as small as possible.

The above are provided as suggestions for the purpose of generating more member traffic. We are by no means telling you how to run your business. The object is to get members to your Vendor forums. Once they are in there, they will be more apt to browse other things in there as well. More traffic equals more sales. Please feel free to use the above suggestions as you see fit.

***Please note that if you have been posting on MFK in the past, that your newly created signature may not show up in those previous posts.***
