Tire track eel not eating?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I picked up some bloodworms this morning, moved my eel to a breeder box in the tank. He has taken a couple worms, hopefully all ends well.

I was lucky with my Tire Track, he hand fed the first week. my next goal is to get him on a mixed of frozen and nls

If he is eating, that's a really good sign that he will probably make it. Please update and let us know how he is doing. Remember to feed, feed, feed, these next few weeks. Give him as much food as he will eat during feeding time. Try frozen krill too!

He is eating, not much, but at least he is eating. I will keep all posted.

be careful not to overfeed the tank, being emmaciated his stomach has contracted.. small feedings multiple times a day will really help him get back up to health for you. GL tire tracks are one of the hardier spineys ime.

Sad news, my eel did not make it:cry:

I picked up another one, he is already taking bloodworms from a turkey baster. I'm stoked to have a new eel and understand better how to take care of him but still bummed and pissed off at myself for the death of the other guy.

Sorry about your loss!!!!!
X2 --If you can find earth worms or nightcrawlers try them broke up in small pieces. In my experience with TT's and fire eels--they will never turn down a worm.

Good luck+keep us posted,
Chris
