I didn't pull anything out of my ass - in Spain, the largest bull fighting country in the world - bulls are actually heavily respected and put out to pastor if they survive a bull fight.

Also, in Costa Rica - the same is done. I actually have a sister-in-law who lives out there and helps take care of bulls who have won in fights as part of her job on a large peice of farmland.

The rest of this argument is stupid - everyone has their own opinion, obviously some people are better at proving their point then others. But in the end it's just an opinion.

No they can be spared by the crowd or the matador, not if the actually take out the matador and his team. Even then these are extremely rare. On the other hand they do get to live a year longer than those sent for slaughter.

The problem with bull fighting is that there are several versions of it. Many of which only endanger the brave soul who want to pit himself against the bull. These guys actually have courage.

Lauding the slob who went in with a team, partly mounter and heavily armed is ridiculous. The deck is stacked in his favor to start. It's like lauding the victory of a UFC champion vs a bar room drunk. Once in a while the drunk might get lucky but the outcome is pretty obvious.

bullfighting is an @$$hole thing to do, its not entertainment, its stress on an animal

and the running of the bulls?? what the hell is that?? they act like when someone gets gored its some surprise

Thats why when I go out I carry a gun. I keep one in my truck at all times along with flex cuffs. People only care about them selves and how to make a quick buck.

lolz, i would never carry a gun, but do, do what u have to survive lol

were definitely more dangerous than anything else

i have kept my mouth shut for this thread and the others like it so i am just going to say one thing

The vast majority of both fish and reptiles kept in the pet trade are kept in sub par conditions, the animal experiences far more stress than it would in it's natural environment and they typically die much younger than what is considered "old" for their species...

So does that make keeping pets "an @$$hole thing to do"?

I have not read a single post in this thread promoting selling drugs to kids, drinking & driving, bullfighting or any of the other horrible things humans do that are being criticized here... Yet there is a handful of people very eager to complain about it...

My suggestion... take your passion and do something constructive with it... your preaching to the choir here...

Agreed. I think we all agree that there is much cruelty in the world, be it humans or animals. And just to note the commercial meat industry in the modern world is arguably the worst, to the animals and the environment. So take that for what its worth.

I'm not sure how i feel about the value of a human vs. animal life. Humans may kill eachother, but animals live by that as well. Survival is the simple goal for animals. I think when someone brings a dangerous animal in captivity they should be ready for the consequences. And it irks me that tax dollars are wasted on hunts and things like that, all because of the endless cycle of idiots who want them, and those who will keep selling them for $. Like others have said, when it comes down to it humans have thrown the earth out of balance (example: extinction due to human activity). BUT humans belong on the planet too, and are just as naturally here as the animals.

The pet industry and attitudes toward environmental quality need a reevaluation. How the legal system treats them up to this point is unacceptable.
