Tiretrack eel Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
CL's may be okey.. if not.. you'll end up with a dead eel with a CL stuck in it's throat. If the Cls are too big to chance swallowing they should be okay. My TT eats any fish it can fit in it's mouth. my fire eels won't touch minnows =/ ... So it really depends on the TT aggression level.. imo I'de try some schooling fish (dither type) And see if he picks those off. If he leaves them be I'de say you'de prolly be fine with the CL's. ATM I keep a 2 senegal Bichir and an Ornate Bichir, a dwarf pike cichlid, and a whiptail cat with my TT everyone is to big to eat, and aggressive enough to hold their own against any advances.

Yeah, as long as the CL's are around 2", it should be fine. The only thing I dislike about CL's is that they are by far the slowest growing fish I have ever owned. After they reach 3 or 4 inches, they only grow about an inch or two per year.

mine whent like a week with out eating... he took feeder guppies and comets well.. aswell as chicvlid pelet.. frozen krill and blood worms..

Very cute baby! bloodworms will do him and the CLs some good on the growth department. though mine didn't start putting on length until I added nightcrawlers to it's diet. my spineys in general take just about any frozen food, bloodworms, krill, mysis, and most live foods as well. If you feed live I suggest prazi proing the tank every 6 months to de-worm any potential parasites in the fishes system. I would also avoid offing him fish. guppies, minnows ect.. It may give him ideas.

Wow, you think your cell phone pics are bad? You should see some of mine. :grinno:

Anyway, nice fish; your TT has almost the exact same pattern as my 16"'er. :D

the phone is an android, i think its only 3.2 mega pixels. better than others these days???

I wondered if the pattered became more detailed as they aged. Im assuming the "track" shapes only get larger?

Yeah, the pattern will stay the same, but it will get larger (it will stay proportional to the size of the eel as it grows).

I have no idea, my phone is pretty much a piece of crap, so it has a camera to match. :D
