Yeah, the pattern will stay the same, but it will get larger (it will stay proportional to the size of the eel as it grows).

Gotcha. BTW, you mentioned feeding him till he stops eating...

I hand feed him every bit of his meals. (I have even gotten the CLs to eat out of my cupped hand a few times)

but the TT eats... and eats... and eats.. until i feel like he is over eating and i stop feeding... is that right or do i keep dangling worms in front of him?

When they're young, it's best to just allow them to eat until they stop on their own, ime. As long as it doesn't get super bloated, it should be fine. But once it gets to around 12", I'd just feed it until its belly starts to look full.

LOL at 32" that takes about a 1/2 pound of shrimp:(

But I didn't specify what to do at that point, since I'm not there yet. ;)

I'd guess I probably have about 1.5-2 more years left until mine gets to that size (it's approximately 16" now)?

Alright. Ill keep that in mind.

I also picked up some NLS today. Gonna try to get the loaches on it. I assume it wouldn't be a bad idea to convince the TT to eat some as well?

Yeah, you could try it, but it isn't likely to accept it on your first try. I've been trying to get mine on pellets just to add some variation to its diet, but the only way I can get it to accept more than just 2-3 pellets per feeding is by mixing the pellets in with krill, then holding it all in my hand at once so it smells the krill and takes both krill and pellets at the same time (if I just give it the pellets, it will eat a few, then reject any other food I try to give it by hand).

:iagree: Thats how I get my fire eels to eat pellets. My TT just started finally taking krill from my hand now.. soo.. I won't try pellets w/ him for a few more weeks yet. But plan on using the same method. Bloodworms also work well in soaking pellets in usually. But krill is really stinky.

1/2 lb at 32" ?... heck >.< I was expecting more like 1 lb the way my guys put down food. But hopefully by then I'll have them eating pellets pretty good. Not a cheap fish to feed...:nilly:

16oz flat pack lasts me about 1 week for 3 fire eels and 1 TT. they're usually begging for more after each feeding. My 3 fire eels put down 1 doz nightcrawlers ( the big ones used to fish with) in a sitting. They're at a size.. and I'm about to the point i'm looking at ordering by the case online. I can say I easily spend about 50$ a month feeding my spineys.
