Hey Guys:

I sent my friend, Jeff an e-mail earlythis morning around 2:00 am. I checked my email around 11:00 am and no response from Jeff as of yet. I'll check it again around 7 or 8:00 pm my time (MST) and see what's up. I'll get back to you later.

Hey Lepisosteus:

I'm not sure if I can, but I have a friend who has connections with the American Cichlid Association (A.C.A.). He's pretty up with developements and availability of most cichlids and I'm sure I can contact him and find out what's going on with this bad boy you guys are wanting. Give me a few days to get back with you guys and I hope to have some positive feed back. He would know if anyone could get some stock available for us on these bad boys.

This friend of mine operates on the National Level with the A.C.A. and lectures all over the world at different conventions. He even collects his own stock, so things may take a few days for me to get back with everyone. In addition, he works too. So please be patient and I'll keep you posted in the days ahead. Thanks.

Hey Guys:

My friend Jeff just sent me an E-mail about this Green Monster ya'll been talking about. Unfortunately, It doesn't look good or promising. Here is his copied message that I recieved this morning around 8:00 am (MST).

It reads as follows: -> Unfortunately, I have never seen this fish offered for sale in the US. it reminds me of a largemouth bass and i imagine would have similar maintenance considerations. Not even sure how you would come across it since there are few if any commercial importations from the countries it inhabits.

It doesn't look good I know, as I said earlier, but I wonder if we made a group effort to try and find out if there are commercial importations from the countries it inhabits, maybe we might just be able to find someone who can get it for us. Any ideas of who might be outstanding candidates for a retail/wholesale source for this Green Monster? Let's get rolling here so we can find an answer. I'll stay in contact with Jeff about this and see what he has to say.

Anyone else ready to help out? How about it guys? Lets hear some plausible ideas.

That sucks, I want one!

I wonder if it would be possible to cross breed one with a tilapia buttikofferi.

hmm ... i'm assuming many of the vendors on here ( i'm thinkin of someone like Wes or Jeff rapps) are able to import it as long as we pay the necessary fees , but even if we are import it, do we have anyone in africa who can collect n export these? o.O

they're invasive in Florida from what I can recall.
