I have always used titanium probes in all of my fresh and salt water aquarium set ups for many, many years in order to ground all electrical equipment. Pumps, power heads, chillers, and other aquarium electrical devices may emit stray voltage resulting in fish health problems like lateral line disease, fin erosion, and gill deterioration. Titanium probes are suppose to help eliminate fish health problems associated with stray voltage. Very few pet companies are even offering titanium probes for sale any more and are hard to find even online. I maintain good aquarist habits as far as water changes, nutrition, and compatibility of tank mates. Does anyone else out there use these probe devices in their tanks or am I just being old school and overkill? Are these devices even necessary nowadays with the safer 'UL' listed electrical equipment sold to fish hobbyists? I await all of your kind and valuable opinions. Thank you!

Just use an all-steel (no chrome) paperclip. Rust doesn't hurt fish and the clips are cheap to replace if they get too rusty. Overkill is relative. And stray current is still a problem for many.
